Bio

June M Temple was born and raised in Philadelphia.  She graduated from King’s College.  In her late teens, she met a returning war veteran and married a few years later.  Four children arrived and life became hectic, but fun.

June’s husband, Chuck, worked for the Boeing Aircraft Corporation.  The company moved the Temple family to Seattle, WA.  Life was just settling down when a missionary came to speak at the church they were attending.  He told about a new project the mission was beginning in central British Columbia, Canada, which would require the building of a high school, and Bible College, then staffing and operating it.  Both June and Chuck felt the call to become involved, so Chuck quit his job and they joined InterAct Ministries in 1970.  Chuck became the school’s business manager and both of them taught classes at the Native Institute of Canada.  The family of six left a four bedroom home to move to the middle of nowhere and live in a two-room trapper’s cabin (with no electricity or running water and a woodstove for heat).  Life was never the same.  There was joy, sadness, excitement, boredom and for June, a real sense of being of service to God.

June has since retired from the mission field.  Her husband of 47 years passed away in 1994.  June still loves to travel and to write about her experiences.  She has published 10 books.  God has blessed her with many adventures and opportunities to serve Him.   Besides writing, June is presently involved in speaking in churches and representing the mission at Christian colleges.  Her four children, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren keep her busy when she is not involved in ministry.  June’s vision is to see Christians praying, going and giving in order for Natives, Muslims and Sikhs in Alaska, Canada and Siberia will hear about and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.
